Greg discusses being on vacation on the East Coast with his family, staying at extended family members places, and missing a few podcasts during that time. He also talks about some podcasts he recorded while on the trip that have yet to be released, and what his plan is for the fall. He then discusses his father, some hard times in his relationship, his final memories of him, and a nice story about remembering him at Rao’s.

  • Wow, fat dumb people getting drunk eating spaghetti and sauce.

    How glorious!

That was a beautiful podcast. I love ya Greg you glorious piece of humankind. What a portrait of your father, Gene, and how you finally may have come to grips with the loss. Real stuff. Don’t hate yourself for not talking to him. I once didn’t talk to my dad for more than a year. Remember the other 23 years you did talk to him. They count.

Great podcast! Great storytelling, you’re pretty good at it, I can only imagine how good they are, since they’re that much better at it than you (according to you). Also, FYI, there is a Rao’s in Caeser’s Palace in Las Vegas.

But the Vegas Rao’s is probably less authentic, certainly doesn’t have the storied history, like most places in Vegas now, except the Flamingo Hilton and the old places on Fremont Street.

  • Greg —
Great show— interesting break-away from the norm ( I dig the “norm” very much).

Sounds like a fantastic night! Heavy, and amazing. I’m not gonna get corny, but it would be easy.

There’s a place here in Phoenix, call
Durant’s —-stuck in time (at least the last time I was there–couple years). You enter through the back, through the kitchen — vintage bitchin’!
Get some one to take you there when you play the city.
    Thanks for the great entertainment!

  • Fitzdog – this might have been the best of all of your terrific podcasts. So real – don’t even know how you kept it together during some of it. Thank you for sharing!
